When we go through traumatic or painful experiences in our lives, we often cope in ways that separate us from our genuine self and this impacts every area of life. Gabor Mate states: “The essence of trauma is a disconnect from the self. Therefore, the essence of healing is not just uncovering one’s past, but reconnecting with oneself in the present”. The ways in which we try to deal with our pain are unique to our individual story, but they often result in what brings people to my office: depression, anxiety, relationship issues, OCD, addictive behaviors, etc. I approach these situations with curiosity, gentleness, & respect. These diagnoses are useful, but they are just the symptoms. My clinical approach is geared towards identifying the underlying causes of distress, to then create a treatment plan that will address these issues, so that you can achieve your goals.

The name Fox & Vine comes from a bible story in the Old Testament. I should mention, F&V is a clinical counseling center, and clients are welcome from any religious background.
In the story, an engaged couple is walking through a beautiful vineyard together, where the fields are ripe and bursting with fruit: think Napa Valley in Autumn. Looking out over the rows of grapes, the groom-to-be’s mind shifts to the potential threats. Like a good farmer, he knows that for the vines (and the marriage) to keep thriving, they must be protected from pesks: like small foxes whose digging and foraging in the fields could wreak havoc on the crop. He looks to his fiancé and says:
Catch the foxes for us,
The little foxes that spoil the vines,
While our vineyards are in blossom.
Song of Songs 2:15
In counseling, we will work to identify & remove your “foxes”: those behaviors, thought patterns, and unresolved pain that keep you from connecting to your true self, and to others in a meaningful way. So, that your life and relationships can flourish like the vineyards in Fall.
With years of experience in the field, we are still dedicated to furthering our skills through continued education and trainings.
Every effort is made to ensure client information is always protected. What is shared in session, stays in session.
Every person and their individual story is sacred, and we believe in treating each with kindness, respect, and lack of judgement.
